Chela [2] is a minor character in The Book of Life and one of the main antagonists in the upcoming The Book of Life 2 sequel. She is a wanted criminal who is known as the "Bandit Princess" and the adoptive daughter of the late Bandit King Chakal who wasn't physically seen in the first movie, but posters of her can be seen in one of the bars in San Ángel [3].

Physical Appearance[]

Chela is a beautiful and slender woman with long reddish-brown hair that has a red flower on the right side, brown eyes and a heart tattoo on her upper right arm.

She wears a red corset top with three white ribbons, brown shorts, knee-high heeled boots and she has a ribbon with a small dagger on her right leg.

Personality[]

Chela is the equivalent of Joaquín Mondragon in a girl [4], besides being as or more dangerous than her father Chakal.

History[]

Not much is known about Chela except that she was adopted by Chakal after he saved her during a battle when she was a baby.

In The Book of Life[]

Chela doesn't have a role on the first film, but a poster of her can be seen on the wall when the Rodriguez brothers walk into the restaurant.

In The Book of Life 2[]

If a sequel ever gets made, it is likely for Chela to appear in it, most likely as one of the main antagonists where she would be coming to San Ángel to avenge her father Chakal's death [5].

At some point, she will receive the Medal of Everlasting Life from El Chamuco [6].

Etymology[]

  • The name Chela means "she who brings consolation" in Spanish.
